Podcast update: fade out, fade in

The Schenectady Six-Pack has podfaded. It’s been true for a while, but consider this official confirmation.

I’ll take the feed down on Friday 27 October. After that, you’ll still be able to stream all the existing episodes on Mixcloud; but if you want to get them through a podcatcher, Friday 27 October is your deadline. Get out there and download!

Why did the show end up fading? Part of it is to do with my mental health, which has been making it more difficult than usual to contact cool people I admire and ask them to spend time talking to me on mic. But another part is that I have other projects in the works that excite me more, bring me more joy, and if I have limited energy to spend on creative stuff, those are the projects I want to prioritise.

Speaking of which! That is one reason I’m making the podfade official and removing the feed. Because I’m hard at work right now editing season one of a brand new podcast, one I bounce out of bed full of ideas for and eager to work on. And Podbean isn’t free. My hosting budget says to do the new thing, the old thing has to end.

I enjoyed the interviews I did for The Schenectady Six-Pack (formerly Writer Collider; I never could find a name I was 100% satisfied with), and I hope you enjoyed listening to them, and that the guests enjoyed taking part.

But it’s on to the next thing. Watch this space for updates.
